Newmark Grubb Knight Frank Retail closed 2015 with news it secured a lease for the high-end retail brand COS for its first Connecticut location at 283 Greenwich Ave. in Greenwich.
The lease is for 15 years for a space of 3,400 square feet. Terms were not disclosed.
Senior Managing Director Jessica Curtis of NGKF Retail represented the landlord, Fareri Associates LP, in the transaction. COS was represented by CBRE”™s retail services group, which included David LaPierre, senior vice president, and Stephen Sjurset, vice president.
COS is owned by H&M and operates in 26 countries and 19 markets online. The Greenwich Avenue incarnation is COS”™s seventh store in the U.S.
The space was previously occupied by Scoop NYC, a retailer of women”™s fashion.
“When the 10-year lease for the previous tenant expired, the vacancy at 283 Greenwich Ave. created the perfect match for the landlord and the tenant.” said Curtis.
NGKF said in a statement, “COS offers women, men and children fashion pieces for the contemporary wardrobe where high-end design and quality live beyond the seasons.” NGKF sees COS complementing the luxury shopping already anchored on Greenwich Avenue.
