CareCentrix Inc., a national home health care services provider, on June 28 was the fifth company named to Gov. Dannel P. Malloy”™s “First Five” program.
In exchange for pledging to stay and expand in Connecticut for at least five years, the state Department of Economic and Community Development has agreed to give the company $12 million over five years if all 213 of its employees are retained and another $12 million if 290 additional jobs are created over the next five years.
“Health care and its supporting industries has been a solid driver of our economy for more than a decade, accounting for a rising share of private sector jobs today,” said Malloy in a statement.  “CareCentrix recognizes this fact. Although the company seriously considered other locations for this expansion, they ultimately chose Connecticut.”
Headquartered in East Hartford, CareCentrix is a home health care provider whose services include coordinating home nursing, home infusion, home medical equipment and sleep testing. CareCentrix has partnerships with 7,000 home care firms nationwide, serving 30 million people. The company has $850 in annual revenue.
“We all know that our state has one of the fastest-aging populations in the nation, and that more and more of our residents are choosing to stay in their homes as long as possible,” said Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman in a statement. “The jobs that will be created here will not only benefit workers and our economy, they will benefit the quality of life of so many of our residents who need care.”
