Harbor Point developer Building and Land Technology and businesses at the a mixed-use Stamford development are partnering with elected officials and nonprofits to promote newly created jobs.
A May 16 hiring event organized by Bridgeport-based Career Resources Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to job skills and training, stated as its goal filling more than 200 positions at four restaurants opening at Harbor Point this summer.
A BLT spokesman said, “BLT”™s commitment to job growth is something that tends to get lost in a lot of the other news about BLT and this mixed-used development.”
“We see Harbor Point as an economic development engine for Stamford and the region as a whole,” said Carl R. Kuehner III, CEO of BLT. “By bringing together new residents, new office workers and new retailers in Harbor Point, we are creating business activity that stimulates job growth and improves our economy.”
State Sen. Carlo Leone worked with BLT and Career Resources to organize and promote the event. “It”™s gratifying to see proactive efforts to create local jobs and to fill them,” Leone said. “I commend BLT and Career Resources for reaching out to the community to find the employees needed for Harbor Point”™s new businesses.”
