CityCenter Danbury, a redevelopment agency focused on Danbury”™s downtown business district, has named Betsy Paynter as its new executive director. She replaces P.J. Prunty, who left in February to become executive director of the Greater Danbury Chamber of Commerce.
Paynter was formerly an economic and community development manager in Brookfield. Before that, she was economic development coordinator for Newtown. She will begin her new job on Aug. 1.
“I”™m ready for the challenge to help the businesses, property owners and residents move CityCenter to the next level,” Paynter said. “There is so much potential to build on the great work that CityCenter has already achieved, and I”™m looking forward to working with everyone.”
