A former attorney from Scarsdale was charged with four felony counts last week and stands accused of stealing more than $1 million from clients.
Michael Lippman, 70, allegedly defrauded 13 clients, telling them he was using their money for estate planning and property purchases. Robert Wolf, a spokesman for Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore’s office, declined to comment on how Lippman improperly spent the money.
According to the district attorney’s office, the scam took place from Jan. 1, 2010, to Sept. 15, 2015, during which time Lippman is suspected of netting $1.5 million in illegal funds.
Lippman is also alleged to owe $132,411 in state taxes. His bail has been set at $50,000.
