Former WWE chief Vince McMahon is the subject of a federal investigation over sexual assault sex trafficking allegations.
The Wall Street Journal, sourcing its coverage from unnamed “people familiar with the investigation,” reported New York prosecutors have been in recent contact with women who accused McMahon of sexual misconduct. This report follows last week’s announcement of a lawsuit against McMahon by Janel Grant, a former WWE employee. McMahon resigned as executive chairman of TKO Group Holdings, the parent company of WWE, after Grant’s lawsuit was made public.
Last summer, federal agents secured a search warrant for McMahon’s phone and subpoenaed him for documents related to accusations of “rape, sex trafficking, sexual assault, commercial sex transaction, harassment or discrimination” against current or former WWE employees. The subpoena also sought communications between McMahon and the women who accused him of misconduct.
