A former hedge fund manager was sentenced to two and one-half years in prison for attempting to set up a woman to be kidnapped and raped.
Albert Hsu, a 43-year-old resident of New Canaan, pleaded guilty to posting messages online, purportedly from his estranged mistress, in which he portrayed her as willing to be kidnapped and raped by a stranger to satisfy a sexual fetish.
Upon his release, Hsu is required to register as a sex offender.
Hsu was fired from Anchor Point Capital L.L.C., a hedge fund based in Boca Raton, Fla., that he co-founded two years ago.
Hsu”™s wife filed for divorce and has been awarded $1 million in a settlement.
