The Builders Association of the Hudson Valley, which has represented the regional construction industry since 1952, awarded its annual Pinnacle Awards in April, recognizing outstanding performance by Hudson Valley industry professionals between Westchester and Ulster counties and west to Sullivan County in 2012.
Applicants submitted project narratives and color images as well as floor and/or site plans. The panel of judges was comprised of noncompeting members from the adjacent Capital Region Builders and Remodelers Association.
Scott Wohl, executive officer of the Hudson Valley association, said project entries ranged from central Sullivan County to southern Westchester County with budgets than ranged from more than $5 million to less than $50,000.
Winners in the home-building category were Woodmere at Goshen; The Ruby Group; P. Morrissey Contracting; and Hudson Valley Home Source.
Awards for remodeling went to Comstock Residential; Masterwork Home; Nurzia Construction Corp.; Murphy Bros. Contracting and Makovic Homes.
The Gardens at Rhinebeck was named best age-oriented community.
Poughkeepsie architect Michael Berta was cited for best architectural work for a renovation.
Commercial project winners included Makovic; Ruby Group; Murphy Bros.; Nurzia and JT Services & Repairs.
N&S Bath Classics won for best brochure, one of several awards handed out in the category of marketing.
