Purchase-based National Realty & Development Corp. is pursuing the Old Orchard Country Club in Eatontown, N.J. The firm submitted a plan to build 175 townhomes and 45,000 square feet of retail space on the golf course grounds.
The project has been the subject of discussion between the developer and borough officials, and there’s a chance the property may not be sold. In 2009, local government officials rejected a proposal that would have changed the golf course”™s zoning laws to make way for retail and housing development.
The firm has a longstanding reputation around the country developing properties from Virginia to California as well as in Elmsford and Mount Vernon.
National Realty & Development will make a formal presentation before the Eatontown planning board meeting Jan. 28.
