A Goldens Bridge construction company will pair with a 105-year-old sports architecture firm from Cleveland as the design build team on one phase of the $100 million revitalization project on Pace University”™s Pleasantville campus.
Andron Construction Corp. and OSports ”“ Osborn Sports + Recreation Architecture ”“ have been selected by Pace officials to manage construction and provide architectural and engineering services for the athletic department component of the project that began last fall.
Planned work includes new stadium lighting and seating, resurfacing of two athletic fields and construction of a new softball field and a varsity field house.
Andron, founded in 1969, has managed several major construction projects for Pace University on its Pleasantville and White Plains campuses.
OSports, which traces its roots in Cleveland to 1909, has designed some of the nation’s renowned sports venues including the original Fenway Park, Yankee Stadium, Cleveland Municipal Stadium and the former Comiskey Park in Chicago. More recently, the firm planned and designed the “Horseshoe,” Ohio State University’s 102,329-seat football stadium.
The athletic department project is part of Pace”™s four-year master plan to consolidate its Briarcliff campus on the 50-year-old Pleasantville campus. It also includes construction of new residence halls, an expansion of the student center, relocation of the university”™s environmental center to an expanded site and an overall reorientation of the campus to a pedestrian-friendly design.
