A five-story condominium project approved by the city of Mounty Vernon is scheduled to begin construction in November.
The 32,000-square-foot residential building, located at 301 South Fulton Ave., will feature 15 two-bedroom units and 20 parking spaces. The project is being designed by Peter F. Gaito & Associates Architects.
Other amenities will include a lobby with common room, 24-hour concierge, a roof deck and private balconies for the residences.
Located on the site of a former flower shop, the building will be a half-mile from the Metro-North Pelham station on the New Haven line.
The building will incorporate sustainable engineering and products such as low-energy glazing, energy-efficient appliances and light fixtures, water-saving bathroom fixtures, zero-volatile-organic-compound paint, nonallergic carpet and natural building materials.
Completion of the building is expected in February 2009.
