White Plains Hospital was given the go-ahead Thursday by the Westchester County Industrial Development Agency to lease a four-story building at 101 E. Post Road to use as office space.
The hospital will relocate 150 administrative workers into the 50,000-square-foot building on the corner of Cromwell Place. James Coleman, executive director of the IDA, said hospital officials hope to move in this spring.
The IDA approved the $6 million renovation of the building, proposed by Post Road Associates LLC, in June. According to county officials, the IDA partnered with developer Paul Guillaro, president and CEO of White Plains-based Unicorn Contracting Corp. and general partner of Post Road Associates, on the adaptive reuse project.
The developer received $329,250 in tax incentives, consisting of a $251,250 sales tax exemption and a $78,000 mortgage recording tax exemption, from the IDA. Board members at the meeting in June said they expected the project to create 50 construction jobs and 200 permanent jobs.
Construction started in the fall on the building, which formerly held the regional office of the attorney general.
