Emcor Group Inc. posted net income of $56.8 million for the second quarter of 2017, compared with $56.5 million for the second quarter of 2016.
The Norwalk firm provides mechanical and electrical construction services, industrial and energy infrastructure and building services.
Included in Emcor’s second-quarter 2016 net income results were after-tax transaction expenses of $1.7 million related to the acquisition of Ardent Services LLC and Rabalais Constructors LLC, which was completed on April 15, 2016. Excluding those expenses, second-quarter 2016 net income was $58.1 million.
Revenues for the just-completed second quarter were $1.9 billion compared with $1.93 billion for the second quarter of 2016.
Operating income for the second quarter of 2017 was $92.8 million, or 4.9 percent of revenues, compared with $92.3 million, or 4.8 percent of revenues, in the second quarter of 2016.
Revenues for the first six months of 2017 totaled $3.79 billion, an increase of 3 percent from the $3.68 billion recorded in the first six months of 2016. Net income from continuing operations for the first six months of 2017 was $109.9 million, compared with $90.9 million for the first six months of 2016.
