The Construction Industry Council of Westchester and Hudson Valley Inc., a professional trade organization representing more than 500 local construction and building industry firms in the Hudson Valley, recently announced the distribution of more than $45,000 in grants to college students throughout the region.
The Louis G. Nappi Construction Labor-Management Scholarship Program awarded $3,000 grants to 15 students to study mathematics, sciences and engineering in undergraduate and graduate school.
Students receiving the scholarships must live in the lower Hudson Valley region and be related to an employee of a company or affiliated labor union of the Construction Industry Council, which is based in Tarrytown.
The scholarship program was established in 2010 with the goal of advancing the studies of engineering, architecture and mathematics.
