IMS Health relocates to Danbury
IMS Health moved its headquarters from Norwalk to Danbury where it is leasing 24,000 square feet of space at 83 Wooster Heights.
Previously based at 901 Main Ave. in Norwalk, IMS Health collects and analyzes information on drug prescriptions as a sales benchmarking tool for pharmaceutical companies and others. It also has locations in New York City, and Parsippany, N.J., the latter previously the headquarters of Med-Vantage that IMS acquired this year.
IMS itself was taken private last year in a $6 billion leveraged buyout funded by TPG Capital, CPP Investment Board and Leonard Green & Partners.

RMS starts new building
Weeks after selling off the luxury apartment building BLVD in Stamford, RMS Construction L.L.C. broke ground on a new building up the street at 1340 Washington Blvd.
RMS filed paperwork with the city of Stamford reporting an estimated cost of $12.2 million, with the building to include about 125 units adjacent to the University of Connecticut Stamford.
In 2010, RMS founder Randy Salvatore was named developer of the year by NAIOP.
Lornamead smiles on Westchester
Personal care products company Lornamead Inc. is leaving Stamford for Harrison, N.Y., where it is leasing space at 500 Mamaroneck Ave. opened by Malkin Properties.
The United Kingdom-based Lornamead Group established its U.S. presence in 2002 via the acquisition of the Natural White teeth whitening business, and since 2007 has had offices at 5 High Ridge Park in Stamford.
Northern Trust takes Greenwich office
Northern Trust Corp. is moving its Fairfield County wealth management office to 165 Mason St. in Greenwich, while keeping an investment solutions business at 300 Atlantic St. in Stamford.
“Moving from Stamford to Greenwich will raise the visibility of our brand and allow us to better serve our existing client base while continuing to grow throughout Fairfield and Westchester counties,” said Brian Donovan, a Northern Trust managing director who leads the Greenwich office.
Columbia lands in Bridgeport
Columbia Elevator Co. officially completed its relocation to Bridgeport from Port Chester, N.Y., where it plans to employ 100 people within five years.
Columbia Elevator completes customization work on elevator cabs for builders. The company first revealed its intention to relocate in 2009 and won $2 million to eliminate site contamination from the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, among other state and city incentives.
Gov. Dannel P. Malloy and Mayor Bill Finch attended a ceremony to welcome the company to Bridgeport.

TestAmerica leases in Darien
TestAmerica Laboratories is leasing nearly 5,000 square feet of space at 19 Old Kings Highway South in Darien as a headquarters location.
TestAmerica runs some 70 environmental testing labs and service centers nationally, including a lab in Shelton. The company previously listed its headquarters in Asheville, N.C.
The Westport office of Cresa Partners helped TestAmerica secure the space at the Darien building, which is under renovation by owner Forstone Capital L.L.C.
Gexpro adds location
Gexpro Inc. is leasing 30,000 square feet of space at 1000 Bridgeport Ave. in Shelton, a mile south of its headquarters at 2 Corporate Drive.
Gexpro sells more than 250,000 electrical parts from some 200 manufacturers. Tracing its history back more than a century to General Electric Co., Gexpro today is owned by Dallas-based Rexel Holdings.
Ethan Allen has new studio site
The Danbury-based furniture retailer Ethan Allen Interiors Inc. leased 28,000 square feet of space in New Milford as a relocation site for its photography studios.
The studio will be located at the Bleachery at 143 West St. in New Milford, a renovated mill building owned by Fairfield-based Fischel Properties that totals 120,000 square feet. The building also houses offices, artist studios and fitness centers.
Ethan Allen chose the location in part for its high ceilings, large windows and original brick.
Pre-school opens in Stamford
Bright Beginnings held a grand opening at 430 High Ridge Road in Stamford, offering pre-school programs for up to 75 children.
The school bills itself as a unique learning-based program that caters to working families, with hours from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
William Pitt opens new office
William Pitt Sotheby”™s International Realty opened a residential real estate office at 200 Atlantic St. in Stamford”™s Harbor Point development.
The company is leasing 5,700 square feet of space, and has 40 brokers at the location.
Eatery planned for Fairfield
Backed by a Norwalk investor, a chef reportedly is opening a Mexican restaurant in Fairfield at 2320 Black Rock Turnpike, the site of a Mackenzie”™s Bar & Grill.
The restaurant will be modeled after the upscale New York City-based chain Rosa Mexicano, according to the Connecticut Post.
Mixology to open in Westport
Women”™s apparel retailer Mixology is opening its first Connecticut store at 151 Post Road East, according to the Westport News.
The location was previously an interior design center. It is Woodbury, N.Y.-based Mixology”™s fifth store since launching in 2009.
Prosource back in South End
Prosource Wholesale Flooring leased space at 25 Harbor View Ave. in Stamford”™s South End, relocating from Fairfield Avenue.
The company sells flooring and carpeting. The move takes it back to its original location when it was founded in 1999.
