Rebuilding Together Dutchess County, an affiliate of the nationwide program, is accepting applications from qualified homeowners for repairs they cannot otherwise afford.
The repairs are done at no cost to homeowners through sponsorship of area businesses and churches, national sponsors and grant programs. The organization plans to complete about 20 projects on its National Rebuilding Day in April 2011 and an additional six to 10 projects in October 2011.
In order to carefully review applications, interview homeowners, inspect homes and select the home repair projects that are considered the most needy, the application process began last month for the 2011 projects. Interested individuals are encouraged to begin the process immediately. The deadline for completed applications is Sept. 30. Selected homeowners will be notified in early 2011.
Volunteers are led and assisted by skilled trades volunteers from the Builder”™s Association of the Hudson Valley, local trade unions, private contractors and other skilled individuals. Information can be obtained by calling (845) 454-7310 or visiting www.rebuildingtogetherdutchess.org.
