A Westchester County Department of Health Assistant Commissioner has been arrested and charged with failing to disclose to the Westchester County Board of Ethics more than $95,000 in income he received from an environmental health consulting firm, according to Westchester County District Attorney Miriam Rocah.
The defendant, Peter DeLucia, age 54, of South Salem, was arrested Wednesday by the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office and charged with three felony counts of Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the First Degree. The defendant was issued a Desk Appearance Ticket for arraignment scheduled to take place March 27 in White Plains City Court, according to Rocah’s office.
According to biographical information posted on Facebook, DeLucia was a former deputy supervisor for the Town of Lewisboro and also served as a councilman for the town. He currently lives in South Salem and is from Yonkers, having attended from Roosevelt High School. He studied at SUNY Albany and Pace University.
Rocah’s office said that the felony complaint alleged that the defendant failed to disclose a total of more than $95,000 received for consulting services in checks, wire transfers and automatic bank transfers from Retired Regulators LLC, DBA Rapid Response Environmental Health Consulting LLC. Rocah’s office said that the money should have been disclosed on forms that were filed covering 2020, 2021, and 2022.
As mandated by Westchester County, certain employees, including the defendant, are required to file Annual Statements of Financial Disclosure with the Westchester County Board of Ethics. The employees are required to disclose the source and nature of any income in excess of $1,000 related to any outside occupation, employment, business or profession while employed by the county.
The defendant allegedly failed to report monies that he received and deposited amounting to approximately $14,000 in 2020, $36,000 in 2021, and $45,000 in 2022.
The Office of the District Attorney said it learned of the allegations in October 2023 and launched an investigation.
The case is being prosecuted by Senior Assistant District Attorney Renee Hassel of the Public Integrity and Law Enforcement Integrity Bureau in the Trials and Investigations Division of Rocah’s office.
