XPO, headquartered in Greenwich, announced this past weekend that it would send 22 drivers to Indianapolis between August 21 and 24 to compete in the annual National Truck Driving Championships.
XPO, which recently expanded its cross border offerings, will send the truck drivers to what has been described as the “Super Bowl of Safety” run by the American Trucker’s Association to both demonstrate their personal capability and the corporate safety culture.
The drivers, who hail from 16 different states, all won state-wide competitions to qualify for the national truck driving championships.
Among the XPO competitors will be Ernie Buldowski. Buldowski, a Connecticut resident, has driven for XPO for 27 years and has logged over 2 million miles without a single accident. It will be his twelfth trip to the National Truck Driving Championships. He will compete in the tank truck class.
“XPO’s continued success at the National Truck Driving Championships is a testament to our unwavering commitment to safety, reliability and world-class service for our customers. Congratulations to all of our drivers who qualified for the national finals and to everyone who competed in their state competitions. We’re proud of your skill, professionalism and hard work and look forward to cheering on Team XPO in Indianapolis.”
