Members of the New York Bankers Association have elected Westchester County banker James J. Landy as chairman of the group”™s board of directors in 2014.
Landy is executive chairman of Hudson Valley Bank N.A. in Yonkers and previously served more than 11 years as its president and CEO. He has been employed by Hudson Valley Bank since 1977, five years after the independently owned commercial bank was founded in Yonkers.
“The banking industry in New York is a vital component of the state’s economic foundation,” Landy said in a press release. “With the state poised for resurgence in the aftermath of the recession, it is critically important to have an active and enthusiastic banking industry.”
Landy is a director of Sacred Heart Housing Corp., a senior citizen housing company in Yonkers, and chairman of St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Yonkers.
