Rye Brook-based Xylem Corp., a manufacturer of water handling equipment, earned 48 cents per share in the second quarter on revenues of approximately $1 billion, the company announced Tuesday.
“I am proud of our teams and what we achieved this quarter. Our organic revenue performance was strong and orders reached a record high,” said Patrick Decker, president and CEO of Xylem.
Xylem increased the lower end of its earnings per share guidance and now expects adjusted earnings per share of $1.90 to $2, reflecting 14 to 20 percent growth over 2013. Full-year 2014 revenue is still expected to be approximately $4 billion, up 2 to 4 percent versus the prior year, according to a company press release.
Universal American Corp., a White Plains-based provider of health benefits to people with Medicare, posted a loss of $9.8 million, or 12 cents per share, against revenues of $519 million. In the six-month period ending June 30, the company lost $14.9 million, or 17 cents per share, against approximately $1 billion in revenue.
