Wells Fargo & Co. has opened a community banking branch in Eastchester, its first retail operation to launch in Westchester County since the bank”™s purchase of Wachovia in 2009.
The new office at 375 White Plains Road joins a roster of 35 Wells Fargo retail branches in the county. Across New York state, the San Francisco-based bank has 82 branches and employs more than 5,200 workers.
“Not having a store in Eastchester was a gap in our distribution network, considering the town”™s ideal location in the heart of Westchester County,” Eleanor Willets, Wells Fargo area president for Metro New York, said in the announcement.
The Eastchester branch employs 14 bankers and has an online banking station. It was designed and built to meet the U.S. Green Building Council”™s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Silver standards.
