Wells Fargo & Co. has replaced two of its older retail bank branches in Yonkers with a new store at 2290 Central Park Ave.
A spokesperson for the bank said the new branch, with 18 bankers, replaces stores at 598 Tuckahoe Road and 157 Lockwood Ave.
Designed and built to meet the U.S. Green Building Council”™s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Silver standards, the building is expected to save up to 21 percent in energy use and about 40 percent in water use.
To celebrate the opening, Wells Fargo is presenting a $40,000 grant to the Yonkers-based Greyston Foundation, a nonprofit that works with disadvantaged and low-income residents through workforce readiness training, financial education, health awareness and employment programs.
Wells Fargo has five banking offices in Yonkers and 35 in Westchester County. It also operates retail bank branches in Tarrytown, Harrison, Hartsdale, New Rochelle, White Plains, Port Chester, Rye, Rye Brook, Scarsdale, Tuckahoe, White Plains, Ardsley, Larchmont and Mamaroneck.
