Webster Bank announced July 26 that it will be the official bank of the University of Connecticut.
The partnership will span across all aspects of the university. All students”™ banking needs will be referred to Webster Bank and in exchange, Webster will support UConn youth and community programs, as well as a new basketball center. The 70,000-square-foot center will be built on the current Memorial Stadium site.
“We are grateful for Webster Bank’s commitment to UConn Athletics,” said Warde Manuel, UConn director of athletics, in a press release. “Through its contribution to our new Basketball Development Center, Webster has recognized the importance of in maintaining the excellence in our nationally-recognized basketball programs.”
Additionally, an affinity card and banking program for the 200,000 UConn alumni will be created.
