The Westchester Bank has signed a 10-year lease for a new bank branch in Mamaroneck in a deal brokered by Houlihan-Parnes Realtors LLC in West Harrison.
The White Plains-based bank has leased 2,050 square feet of storefront space at 301-305 Mamaroneck Ave. in the village”™s downtown business district for its fifth branch in the county, Houlihan-Parnes announced. James Schwartz, executive vice president  of Houlihan-Parnes Realtors, represented the tenant, while Houlihan-Parnes senior director John Manous represented the building owner in the deal.
Schwartz said the retail space had been occupied for more than 25 years by Radio Shack, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in February.
“It was not on the market at the time of our search, and we were able to negotiate a deal for the space prior to Radio Shack rejecting the lease in its bankruptcy proceeding and vacating the space. It”™s one of the prime storefront locations on Mamaroneck Avenue in the central business district, near many other national and regional banks,” he said.
John Tolomer, president & CEO of The Westchester Bank, in the lease announcement said Mamaroneck is “a desired location both from a consumer and commercial business banking aspect” as the community bank pursues strategic growth.
Norman DiChiara, of Norman DiChiara Architects P.C. in White Plains, designed the branch. which is expected to open this month.
