The Bank of Greenwich has moved into a new headquarters in Cos Cob.
“Since we’ve opened, the response has been outstanding with a significant number of new depositors and loan customers,” said Robert Oca, president and CEO of The Bank of Greenwich.
The bank was founded in 2006 on the first floor of a commercial building at 61 Mason St. in Greenwich and recently completed construction of its own building on East Putnam Avenue in Cos Cob.
According to Oca, the plan for an autonomous location with amenities and services, was projected in the banks plans from its start.
“We’re a full-service bank; that was very important to us,” said Oca. “The Bank of Greenwich is expected to do very well in the current economy, unlike the many larger banks that have fallen as a result of the subprime mortgage crisis.”
Mary Ann Morrison, president and CEO of the Greenwich Chamber of Commerce, said community banks have remained solid and are moving forward through the downturn.
“The Bank of Greenwich has visibly made itself a part of the Greenwich community as a community bank,” said Morrison.
