Wells Fargo named Maria Ferreira as the new area president of its suburban market spanning six counties from New York’s northern Hudson Valley to Fairfield County, where its branch footprint reaches east to Bridgeport and north to Bethel.
Ferreira, who lives in New jersey, was an area president in Wells Fargo”™s central New Jersey market since 2009.

Ferreira has been with the company for 18 years, serving Wells Fargo predecessor banks as branch manager, sales leader, private advisory leader and retail banking director in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut. She began her banking career as a teller at British-based National Westminster Bank in 1981 and subsequently worked in numerous branch-based roles.
Ferreira is currently a director on the boards of two nonprofits in New Jersey. She is also a member of the Wells Fargo Northeast Diversity Council.
