Gov. Dannel P. Malloy appointed New Canaan resident Neil Budnick as chair of the Investment Advisory Council (IAC), to work with Connecticut’s treasurer in overseeing the Connecticut Retirement Plans and Trust Funds.
Budnick is a founding partner in the New York City-based consulting firm Channel Rock Partners, along with onetime executives from UBS and Juran Institute, a quality improvement consulting organization based in Southbury.
Budnick is also a director of Information Services Group, a Stamford-based company that advises other businesses on outsourcing contracts, and sits on New Canaan’s board of finance. Previously, he was president and CFO of the Armonk, N.Y.-based financial services giant MBIA.
Budnick is a graduate of Boston College and holds a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Colorado.
Budnick replaces Joe Roxe, a Darien resident and chairman of Bay Holdings L.L.C. who was appointed to the IAC chair in 2009 by former Gov. M. Jodi Rell.
