By most accounts, the economy is turning the corner. And, while there may be some bumps along the road, at least we”™re not headed off the cliff.
We are seeing a more confident and optimistic business community. M&As are staging a comeback. Even some angel investors are flapping their wings. But one of the key players in an economic recovery is the financial industry, which has been pummeled over the past year. Concerns about financing linger. Are the credit markets beginning to thaw? Are banks lending?
The Business Journal checked in with John Tolomer, president and CEO of The Westchester Bank in Yonkers, N.Y. The bank, which is just over a year old, recently received state and federal regulatory approvals to open a second branch in Westchester County.
