The New York Department of Financial Services has approved a mortgage banker license for Hudson United Mortgage LLC in Nanuet.
Hudson said in a news release that the license allows it to control more of the mortgage process and attract more investors with niche products. It intends to sell home loans to national banks such as Wells Fargo, Chase and Citibank, as well as to broker-investor partners with whom it already works.
The company said it also got mortgage banker licenses from Connecticut, Florida and New Jersey.
Hudson claims to be the largest mortgage broker originator in New York. It also operates a title services company and an insurance company.
