Fairfield University”™s Charles F. Dolan School of Business will partner with New York City-based Fitch Learning to offer a Level I chartered financial analyst exam prep course to professionals in the financial industry and to alumni of Fairfield University who studied finance on either the undergraduate or graduate level.
The Dolan School of Business and Fitch Learning will host a free information/orientation session at 6 p.m. Sept. 4 in the university”™s Kelley Center. The session was rescheduled from early August. Course costs and the advantages of participation will be discussed.
Fitch Learning provides CFA preparation for corporations, universities and independent students. Last year, it helped more than 3,000 students prepare for the CFA exams, according to a Fairfield University press release.
According to Dean Donald E. Gibson of the Dolan School, Fitch Learning”™s experience in training graduate groups and interns at investment banks and as asset managers gives Fitch insight into the qualifications graduates need.
“We are confident we can collaborate with Fairfield by offering exam preparation materials with instructor curriculum guides that will not only increase the number of students carrying out this unique course but also leave them with the tools and knowledge they need in their future careers,” said Rob Thakur, head of professional qualifications at Fitch.
This fall, Fairfield will offer three Fitch Learning opportunities: a nine-week instructor-led course that will meet Saturdays at the Dolan School of Business; an online study package, which includes access to the Fitch Learning online study portal and mobile app; and a two-day on-campus review course. All prepare the student for the Level I exam in December.
“We look forward to providing this quality program to our students who aspire to be finance professionals, and hope to see alumni return to campus for this exciting professional opportunity,” said Gibson, who is also professor of management at the school. “The CFA has become an essential credential for those who want to advance in this field.”
