Gov. Andrew Cuomo has appointed Robert Wilmers, CEO of M&T Bank Corp., and Deborah Wright, CEO of Carver Bancorp Inc., to the New York State Tax Reform and Fairness Commission this week.
The duty of the panel, which is made up of 10 people, is to recommend changes to the state”™s tax code.
Wilmers retired from his position as CEO of M&T in 2005, and returned to the post two years later. The bank, with locations in White Plains, Elmsford, and Tarrytown, has $81 billion in assets.
Wright has held her position as CEO at Carver since 1999. Previously, Wright was CEO of the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone Development Corp.
