Bank of America donates $1.1M to nonprofits

Bank of America recently announced another round of donations to southern Connecticut nonprofits. Year to date, the banking giant has donated $1.1 million to organizations addressing hunger, shelter, long-term financial wellness, support housing, workforce development and education.

“The Southern Connecticut nonprofits we”™re partnering with are nothing short of a lifeline for countless individuals and families,” said Bill Tommins, Bank of America’s market president of southern Connecticut, in a press release. “These funds will help them continue their critical mission, and expand their services for an even greater impact.”

The funding is a part of Bank of America’s corporate social responsibility strategy to help create economically vibrant regions and communities.

The following nonprofits will receive a portion of the latest round of funding:

  • Catholic Charities of Fairfield County (New Covenant House)
  • Community Soup Kitchen
  • Connecticut Food Bank
  • Columbus House
  • Domus Kids
  • Family Centers
  • Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County
  • Person to Person
  • Shelter for the Homeless
  • The Community Fund of Darien
  • The Salvation Army
  • United Way of Coastal Fairfield County
  • United Way of Greater New Haven
  • United Way of Greenwich
  • United Way of Meriden and Wallingford
  • United Way of Milford
  • United Way of Naugatuck and Beacon Falls
  • United Way of Southeastern Connecticut
  • United Way of Western Connecticut
