Stewart International Airport in New Windsor will receive more than $1.7 million in federal funding to repave and rehabilitate its two runways.
The announcement of the Federal Aviation Administration funding was made by the office of U.S. Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney, who is on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
In August, the FAA provided $1.86 million in funds for runway renovations at Stewart, which Maloney said would cover about 90 percent of the improvement costs, according to a previous Business Journal report.
The runways are 11,817 feet and 6,004 feet long, and 150 feet wide each. The airport receives regular flights from FedEx Corp., United Parcel Service Inc., the U.S. Postal Service and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
