Bermudair, a startup airline, is waiting to receive approval from the U.S. Department of Transportation to begin service between LF Wade International Airport in Bermuda and Westchester County Airport.
According to the Bermuda-based Royal Gazette, the airline received an air operating certificate from the Bermuda Civil Aviation Authority but has yet to receive similar certification from the U.S. to commence service. The airline had planned to begin Bermuda to Westchester flights in late August, but at the moment its plans are on hold.
Bermudair is seeking U.S. permission to operate fly six days a week, including twice daily from Bermuda to Westchester, and it also sought approval to conduct daily flights to Boston and Fort Lauderdale six days a week. The carrier plans to use Embraer E170-200 STD aircraft equipped with 30 premium seats for its flights.
