Gov. Ned Lamont is heading to Paris next week as the self-appointed head of a state delegation at an international aerospace event.
The Paris Air Show runs from June 19 to June 22 and features commercial aerospace and defense industry leaders, along with elected officials. More than 2,454 companies from around the world will be exhibiting, and the State of Connecticut will sponsor its own booth that will be occupied by 10 local aerospace companies including Fairfield County-based Hexcel Corp. and Sikorsky Aircraft.
“The aerospace industry is an important part of Connecticut”™s employer base, supporting thousands of jobs and contributing billions to our economy,” Lamont said. “Our goal is to get more products that are made in Connecticut out into the world, and to get more of the world doing business in Connecticut. We are committed to supporting the companies that operate in our state, as well as working with those that are looking to establish operations here and leverage the best workforce in America.”
