Frontier Airlines (NASDAQ:ULCC) has shut down its service out of New York Stewart International Airport.
The carrier offered flights between Stewart and Florida since November 2021. The final day of service at the Hudson Valley airport was on July 2 ”“ but while Frontier is exiting Stewart, it is also starting two new routes from Houston (flying to Phoenix and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina) and between San Juan, Puerto Rico, and St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Without Frontier, the only commercial carriers using Stewart are Allegiant Air, which regularly scheduled flights to Florida and seasonal connections to Myrtle Beach, and Play Airlines with flights to Iceland. Atlantic Airways will begin seasonal flights next month connecting Stewart Airport with the Faroe Islands.
