Five Fairfield County companies are included on Forbes”™ “Best American Companies” list, based on an independent survey of 30,000 U.S. employees working for companies employing at least 1,000 people.
Sikorsky in Stratford was the highest-placing in the county, coming in at 58. Others include Charter Communications in Stamford (119th), Praxair in Danbury (203rd), Synchrony Financial in Stamford (299th) and Pitney Bowes in Stamford (394th). General Electric, which moved out of Fairfield last year for Boston, placed 223rd.
Yale New Haven Health was the state”™s top ranked company, at 57th. Intriguingly, the state of Connecticut came in at 275th; other states named to the list were Alaska (185th), Minnesota (198th), Colorado (204th) and Nevada (216th).
Costco, based in Issaquah, Washington, was the #1 company.
The survey was conducted between Sept. 9 and Oct. 7, 2016.
