For the third time in two months, a commercial carrier is shutting down a route from Westchester County Airport.
SimpleFlying.com reported Delta Air Lines will stop operating flights Westchester and Boston Logan Airport on Aug. 31. The 166-mile, one-hour flight ”“ the shortest in Delta”™s network ”“ began last October and is operated by Delta Connection partner Republic Airways.
Delta currently provides 17 weekly flights between Westchester and Boston, and the carrier will continue to operate flights from Westchester to Atlanta and Detroit.
Last week, United Airlines announced it was terminating its Westchester to Chicago service at the end of June, which was its only route from the White Plains-based airport. Last month, Breeze Airways stated it was ending its service to Los Angeles, which was the only transcontinental flight from Westchester.
