More than a thousand people filed into the Hyatt Regency Stamford in Old Greenwich recently to mull their retirements or peruse resorts in an event that has now run 20 years.
According to the niche media company ”” North Carolina-based Ideal-Living ”” that has returned to the Greenwich area year after year to market its services, the allure is about the location (central to Fairfield County and Westchester County, N.Y.) and the demographic ”” well-to-do ”” that resides in it.
The 25-year-old company works hand in hand with resorts and developers coast to coast in presenting events like the bustling one in Old Greenwich. Its next show is in March in Bridgewater, N.J.
Company President Michael Hackeling, a New York native, said afterward, “We provide an integrated service that features live events, the web and print. It”™s an easy way to begin the search for a resort or for a retirement community. Start on the web; go to the magazine; go to the events. We make it easy by bringing the developers from all over the country to one location, in this case Greenwich.”
Besides Hackeling, the Ideal-Living contingent included company Vice President Dave Robertson, director of operations Alan Lipka and the company”™s web and data manager David Heck.
