Connecticut”™s New Britain Museum of American Art is now presenting “Masterworks of Shaker Design: Mount Lebanon, NY.”
The exhibition, which runs through March 3, 2024, is the second in the museum”™s series designed to highlight Shaker craftsmanship from the past 175 years. This presentation explores the first fully organized village dedicated to the principles of Shakerism and the celebrated furniture, woodenware, and objects produced by the faith-based community in upstate New York.
As part of this presentation, there will be a gallery talk on Shaker history and design by M. Stephen Miller, the exhibition”™s guest curator, on Sept. 13 at 1:00 p.m.
