Bob Marrone debuted on Monday as the new host of WFAS”™s AM morning talk show, just weeks after the station’s FM affiliate moved out of Westchester County.
Marrone, previously the host of “Good Morning Westchester” on WVOX 1460AM, signed a contract Friday with Cumulus Media, the owner of WFAS. His show airs weekdays from 6 to 10 a.m. and is broadcast at 1230AM.
WFAS”™ new morning man left WVOX”™s morning show in 2012 but still appears weekly on a New Rochelle Chamber of Commerce talk show on that station. Marrone, who was recently named executive director of the chamber, will continue in his role as director and can continue to appear on the WVOX chamber-themed talk show.
WFAS”™s FM station, 103.9, announced in June it would move its broadcast facilities from Hartsdale to the Bronx and rebrand as an “urban music” station. But while the company”™s FM broadcast was leaving Westchester County behind, WFAS initiated talks with Marrone to take over the morning program only several years after it had reportedly aimed at a younger audience.
