Greenwich’s Cavalier Gallery is presenting a retrospective of the work of award-winning photographer Steve McCurry from Feb. 8 through March 9.
McCurry has been recognized with some of the most prestigious awards in the industry, including the Robert Capa Gold Medal. Most recently, the Royal Photographic Society in London awarded McCurry the Centenary Medal for Lifetime Achievement and in 2019, McCurry was inducted into the International Photography Hall of Fame.
To the public, McCurry is best known for his photography in Afghanistan during the years of Soviet occupation, including the striking photograph of an Afghan girl (seen here) that was featured on the cover of National Geographic.
