Westchester County and its office of tourism and film are pointing with pride to TV productions that were filmed in the county having received 32 nominations in the 76th Annual Emmy Awards that will be handed out on Sept. 18.
According to Natasha Caputo, who is the county’s director of tourism and film, “These nominations celebrate the unique appeal Westchester County offers to filmmakers. Seeing our locations come alive on screen in such captivating productions fills us with immense pride.”
County Executive George Latimer pointed out, “Westchester County’s film industry is a true powerhouse that showcases the beauty of our region. The industry’s economic impact is undeniable, generating over $2 billion in economic activity in 2022-2023. These Emmy nominations are a testament to the world-class productions that choose Westchester County as their backdrop.”
The critically praised Amazon Prime drama series, “Fallout,” which filmed at the Verplanck quarry in Cortlandt, received 16 nominations across acting, production, and writing categories. The FX miniseries “Feud: Capote & The Swans” spent several days filming at the C.V. Rich Mansion in White Plains. It received 10 nominations in categories including casting, costumes, directing, and acting. HBO’s “The Gilded Age” received six nominations, including one for best drama series. The production filmed at several locations including Lyndhurst, Manhattanville College and the Jacob Purdy House in White Plains.
Westchester County Tourism & Film helps attract filming to the county by offering the industry help with location scouting, technical visits, and obtaining needed permits.
