Centerplate Inc. in Stamford has signed multiyear contract renewals with the upstate New York-based Olympic Regional Development Authority and the Los Angeles Zoo.
Centerplate is a hospitality and food service company that partners with convention centers and sports venues.
“We are pleased to announce these latest contract renewals and look forward to providing our partners at the Olympic Regional Development Authority and the Los Angeles Zoo with the unparalleled service experience they expect from Centerplate,” said Des Hague, president and CEO of the company.
Hague said with the new agreements in place, the company will continue to provide hospitality solutions for Olympic Regional Development Authority, the site of the 1980 Lake Placid Winter Olympics and a Centerplate partner for more than 25 years, and for L.A.”™s zoo, a joint venture with Service System Associates for 12 years. He said the operations range from concession stands to black-tie banquets.
“One of the keys to our success is executing a range of extraordinary guest experiences, from VIP galas at the Gore Ski Lodge to ice cream at the Gorilla Grill,” said Hague. “As a hospitality leader, Centerplate serves over 1.5 million visitors to the Los Angeles Zoo each year.”
Hague said as a part of the new contract with the zoo, Centerplate will provide facility renovations, including work at the Pachyderm Forest opening summer 2010.?The company also recently unveiled “100 percent biodegradable foodservice solutions,” at its two largest locations, the Dallas Convention Center and the Orange County Convention Center in California.
Hague said he hopes to reduce dramatically the environmental impact of two of North America”™s busiest convention centers.
