Greenwich”™s Bruce Museum is opening with free admission Monday, Jan. 18, for its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Family Day, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event features family activities inspired by current exhibits, in addition to performances by Bright Star Theatre Company. Activities include: an 11 a.m. performance of “George Washington Carver and Friends,” an introduction to influential black Americans of the last 150 years, including Booker T. Washington, Jackie Robinson and Thurgood Marshall; and a 1 p.m. presentation titled, “Struggle for Freedom: The Life of Dr. King,” celebrating the work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in the context of the American Civil Rights Movement.
The museum will also host craft activities in the education workshop for all ages throughout the day.
