The region”™s restaurateurs are invited to register for this year”™s fall Hudson Valley Restaurant Week to be held Nov. 2 to 15.
Produced by “Valley Table” magazine, the twice-yearly event last March included a record-setting 222 participating restaurants that served more than 250,000 diners across the seven-county region, according to its organizer. The culinary spread emphasizes seasonal products grown in the region and relationships between local farmers and chefs.
Participating restaurants offer a three-course, fixed-price dinner for $29.95 per person and may offer a three-course lunch menu for $20.95 per person. Restaurants also offer their regular menus.
Restaurants pay an $800 registration fee for the fall event. To register online, go to hudsonvalleyrestaurantweek.com.
According to its organizer, 87 percent of restaurants reported increased business during each Restaurant Week last year. The 2014 events generated a total of $10.2 million in sales revenue ”” with an average sales increase of nearly 38 percent among participants during the two-week event ”” and estimated tax revenue for municipalities of about $844,400.
Its organizer said about half of diners visited participating restaurants for the first time during Restaurant Week, and nearly 90 percent of patrons return to the restaurant in which they dined.
Four out of five participating restaurants use local products, according to the event organizer. The seven-county Hudson Valley region has more than 2,550 farms, more than 120 farmers markets and more than 45 Community Supported Agriculture farms.
