Purchase-headquartered PepsiCo Inc. (NASDAQ:PEP) is continuing the 125th birthday of its Pepsi brand by re-releasing classic commercials featuring music royalty celebrating the cola brand.
The commercial campaigns being brought back for an encore include Tina Turner’s “Taste For Pepsi” (1986), Robert Palmer’s “Simply Irresistible” (1989), Madonna’s “Like A Prayer” (1989), Ray Charles’ “The Right One Baby” (1991) and Britney Spears’ “The Joy of Cola” (2001). The Madonna and Britney Spears spots have not been broadcast since their original airings and will be telecast during the Sept. 12 broadcast of the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards; all five commercials are now online at Pepsi”™s YouTube page.
