The Food Bank For Westchester recently received a $50,000 grant from the Morgan Stanley Foundation to fund its BackPack Program, which helps to ensure students continue to receive nutritious food during school breaks. Employees from Westchester-based Morgan Stanley branches went to the food bank”™s headquarters in Elmsford for a presentation ceremony and to spend time volunteering. Morgan Stanley Managing Director Bruce Dunbar presented Food Bank for Westchester CEO Leslie Gordon with a check from the foundation.
As part of its initiative, the Morgan Stanley Foundation awarded $750,000 in grants to food banks across the country. The company”™s employees volunteered in 40 different locations sorting and packing food. During the summer, four out of five children who typically received reduced and free lunches through schools lose that access to nutrition.
