The Great Saw Mill River Cleanup ”” a collaboration between business, government and community ”” begins Saturday, April 16.
Starting at 10 a.m., about 200 volunteers from local businesses and community groups will spend three hours clearing trash from the river and cutting invasive vines that endanger trees at eight sites across the Saw Mill River Watershed from Yonkers to Elmsford. Local and state agencies will then haul the garbage away from each site.
The event is hosted by Groundwork Hudson Valley, an environmental nonprofit based in Yonkers. Ginsburg Development, Rivertowns Square, Saber Real Estate, Lincoln Property, Yonkers Tennis Center, and Hastings Self Storage are all sponsoring the cleanup.

Ӣ Walsh Road and War Memorial Field in Yonkers
Ӣ Hearst Street in Yonkers along the South County Trailway
Ӣ Lawrence Street in Ardsley along the South County Trailway
Ӣ Farragut Avenue in Hastings along the South County Trailway
Ӣ Woodlands Lake in Irvington along the South County Trailway
Ӣ Science Barge volunteers will be working at a separate location, on Ann Street in Yonkers.
