Residential transactions for every state in New England surged by a double-digit margin in June compared with June 2014. Price gains, however, hovered in the low single digits, with Connecticut posting a price decrease in the month-over-month comparison from real estate company RE/MAX Integra.
Year-over-year sales in Connecticut, according to the June monthly housing report, saw total transactions for June up 11.7 percent while the median price decreased 0.7 percent. Pending sales were up 28 percent year over year.
Overall in New England, home sales increased 12.3 percent, according to the report. Pending sales were up 21.6 percent over June 2014 and up 7.1 percent over May.
Massachusetts showed an increase of 10.2 percent in total transactions year-over-year. The median price was up 2.1 percent. Pending sales were up 17.3 percent over June 2014.
Maine showed an increase of 18.8 percent in total transactions year over year. The median price increased 2.7 percent and pending sales were up 28.4 percent.
In New Hampshire, home transactions increased 13.3 percent year over year; the median price increased 5.3 percent. Pending sales were up 9.8 percent year over year.
Rhode Island home transactions increased 12.9 percent year over year, while median price increased 4.2 percent. Pending sales were up 30.3 percent year over year.
Vermont home transactions were up 20.8 percent when comparing June 2014 with June 2015, while median price increased 4.1 percent. Pending sales were up 13.3 percent year-over-year.
